Country Place Real Estate Sales Report in July 2016

Even if your house looks immaculate, there are few things that will turn off any kind of positive first impression than an a bad odor in your house.  The DiMora Team are real estate experts in the Novi and Northville neighborhoods and we have seen buyers walk into a home and immediately encounter a smell, that is generally all people focus on, and all they will remember.  Banishing bad odors isn’t as easy as it seems.   Certain scents are hard to remove—the more so when you’re so used to them you that don’t even notice them anymore.   The odor of cat urine, in particular, is so persistent that its almost impossible to remove the stench.  One trick is to soak the spot with the enzyme spray, letting it seep down into carpet pads and floors.  If that doesn’t work, you may have to replace the rug or the section of flooring, but not necessarily the whole thing.  Yesterday’s dinner can sometimes linger on the next day, such as fish.   Set a shallow bowl filled with white vinegar or coffee grounds on the counter to absorb smells overnight.   Check out below to see what sold in Country Place in July 2016:

If  you smell a foul odor near your sink, check your drain and garbage disposal, where rotting meat or produce can become stuck and create a major smell.  To deodorize the grinder, place two or three slices of lemon or orange in the disposal, turn on the water and flick on the switch.  In a pinch, gold ol’ mouthwash will do the trick.  For more information on Country Place or similar Northville or Novi neighborhoods such as Highland Lakes, Crosswinds West and Lakewoode Parkhomes, contact The DiMora Team today at 248-505-7728 or jim@dimora.com.
