When it comes to buying a home you might think that you won’t need a survey done in addition to all of the other precautions you are taking before closing on your house. The closing attorney will always ask you if you want a survey ordered on your new house, although it is not a mandatory service to have one done. When you are looking at all the other fees and services you are getting and think “Do I really need a Survey?” The answer should always be yes. The DiMora Team are real estate experts in the Northville and Novi neighborhoods and we know that is can be very important if you decide when you move in to put up a fence or a shed or any structure in your yard; you need to be aware of the property lines for your house. This especially comes into play with homes on a cul de sac because of the odd shapes of the yards. So, when you are purchasing your home and they ask you if you want a survey be sure to say “yes.” Check out below to see an active listing in Northville Hills Golf Club in February 2016:

Its very possible that a survey could find that the previous owner was not aware of their neighbor putting up a fence or structure that extended into their property. If the neighbors sue and refuse to move the fence or structure, the seller will be paying a lot more money to get the home sold now and in court costs than if they had just ordered a survey when they originally purchased the house.
