When you decide to list your home with a real estate agent, you’ll sign a legally binding contract called a listing agreement that allows your agent to market and sell your property until the real estate listing agreement expires. The DiMora Team are real estate experts in the Novi and Northville neighborhoods and we know that in return for managing the transaction, you’ll pay your agent a real estate commission from the proceeds of the sale. The length of a listing agreement is decided by the agent and the seller, although most agents have a standard contract they present to clients. Six months is the average timeframe for most contracts, although some contracts can go up to a year. Check out below to see what sold in Dunbarton Pines in June 2022:
44735 Midway Drive, Novi: 4 bedrooms, 3.1 bathrooms, 2,602 sq. feet, 3 car garage, Sold Price: $800,000

Like most contracts, the seller has the right to request a shorter or longer time period if both parties agree. However, once the listing agreement is set, and the contract is signed, a seller cannot back out of the contract or there could be serious and costly repercussions.
