What happens after an offer is given on a house? Once you submit an offer one of three things can happen: it can be accepted, rejected or countered. If your offer is too low or has unreasonable terms from the seller’s perspective, then likely will get a rejection or counter. If you get a rejection, you may want to move on as it likely indicates both parties have too large of a gap in value perceptions.
