Steeplechase Real Estate Sales Report in December 2015

Is it important to have furniture in your house when you decide to sell it?  Most buyers cannot visualize room sizes, how to arrange furniture and cannot “see” themselves in a vacant home.  Having nice furniture and home decor in your house when it’s for sale is a plus.  It gives potential buyers a better idea of how much furniture will fit in a room and how to lay the rooms out.  The DiMora Team are real estate experts in the Northville and Novi neighborhoods and we know there is a good reason why new home model centers spend so much time, money and effort making sure their models are well decorated.  However, there is a flip side to this coin.  When a home has sparse, mismatched or dated furniture, this can have a more adverse effect on buyers than no furniture at all.  Some buyers focus too much of their attention on the unappealing furniture and not enough time on the house itself.  Check out below to see what sold in Steeplechase in December 2015:

18855 Bayberry Way, Northville:  4 bedrooms, 3.1 bathrooms, 4,985 sq. feet, 3 car garage, Sold Price:  $710,000

Spend a little money having the floors professionally cleaned to get the dust and carpet dents that will most certainly be revealed when the furniture goes.  If possible, have a painter come in and paint the walls and baseboards.  This will give the house a “blank slate” appeal which certain buyers really like.  Keep in mind that empty room pictures often look small in pictures so your online presence may be a little less attractive.  For more information on Steeplechase, or similar Northville or Novi neighborhoods such as Stonewater, Turnberry Estates and Woods of Edenderry, contact The DiMora Team today at 248-505-7728 or jim@dimora.com.
